In 50-80 words reply to the following: Have you ever read a graded reader such as the Penguin Readers, Oxford Bookworm Series or Heinneman? If so, what story did you read? Did you like it? Would you recommend the book to another classmate? Whether you have read a graded reader or not, comment on what the advantages are for reading easy-to-read books. 2. In this week's blog watch the following video screencasts by Mika and then by Ayano. In 50-80 words, say whose video presentation you felt more of a connection in to in terms of your life experience. For commenting on the person’s video you can comment on the following things: the sound quality, her pronunciation, the choice of visuals and how you felt about the content of her presentation. Also answer the question that follows the end of the video.

1. I read "Mystery in London".I liked this story because I can advance the story by my choice.So I would recommend the book to my classmate.I began to read the beginning book because I think I can accustom to reading English books and read more difficult books by starting to read easy book.
ReplyDelete2. I felt Ayano's video is more of a connection in to in terms of my life experience.The sound of quality and her pronunciation was good but there was a harsh sound.Visuals deepened my understanding but I can't have imagined the life without colors.
I thought to her question "magic eyes" was useful for people who have color blindness and it made their life happy.

I believe "harsh" in this case would mean there was a "strong" background noise.
Delete1, I have read a graded reader of Penguin Readers. The title of the book was “The Prince and the Pauper.” I liked this book very much because Edward was cool. He was clever and brave. I recommended the book everyone. By reading the graded readers, I could improve my English skill.
ReplyDelete2, I felt Mika’s video presentation I felt more of a connection in to in terms of my life experience. The sound quality and her pronunciation were very good. They were naturally. The choice of visuals was effective and it helped my understanding. I think we have same wrong idea about autism because we have no chance to understand them. It was the first time when I heard the word “autism” so her presentation was good chance for me.

1.I read "Stargate." Is is SF story, so it was difficult for me to imagine the scene. But it was intersting for me. I recommened this book. If you read and couldn't understand the story, you can watch this movie. So you can unerstand this story more cleary.
ReplyDelete2. I felt more intersted in Ayano's video than Mika's video, because Ayano's video was simple amd easy to understand and topics was intersting than Mikas's. But both of the sound quality was bad. It was difficult to listen to their voice for me, but I lke Ayano's reading, Because she read slowly. I like her video's choice of visuals, because she defined the magic eye to use famous people's picture and their voice and song's pictures. So I was intersted in the magic eye. I want to use the machine and want to know my color.

1. I read the book about a family who were looking for some treasures. It was easy level to read. So, I think everyone can read it easily. I recommend this book. It is important to read the easy one because we should be accustomed for reading English before the difficult one.

1. Yes, I have. I read some books of the Penguin Readers. The story of “Run for Your Life” was interesting. The two heroes were pursued by the criminal because they witnessed the scene of the crime by chance. I could experience a thrill of the pursued. I liked it and I recommend this book to another classmates. I think the advantage of reading easy-to -read books is a feeling of achievement to finished reading English books.

They may think they have nothing to do with autism. I think they should know the fact about autism. Her voice was loud and her clear pronunciation was good. This video’s the choice of visuals was hard to understand for me because I couldn’t make out the connection with the content of her presentation.

1. I read Penguin Readers last week. The title is “BLUE MOON VALLEY”. It was used easy English wards. Everyone can read less than 5minutes. I recommend it to all classmates. This story is a little sad and painful, but finally a heroine becomes happy. I am able to learn English and enjoy reading at the same time.
ReplyDelete2. I prefered Ayano’s video to Mika’s video. I was very interested in colorblind. I didn’t know people can see speech or songs and listen to faces or foods. I was surprised. I felt her presentation was good. Her voice was easy to listen and visuals help me to understand.

1.I read Penguin Readers yeaterday! The title of the book is "Billy and the Queen". It is easy for me to read. I recomend it if you feel hard to read English book. The story is that Billy who want to get new bicycle will try to take picture with Queen in England to won first prize in competition of magazine. If he won first prize , he can get money. It is interesting story. I'll try read more English book.

I think almost Japanese people(include me)don't know so much about autism because I didn't know nothing about autism before watching video. After watching the video, I could understand the people who has autism is minority people. I felt Mika's pronunciation is more clear than Ayano's video and the topic of Mika's video is really simple and the picture of video is really helpful and I felt pictures are suitable her presentation.

1.I read Penguin Reader when I was high school student.It was a homework of summer vacation.The title of the book is "Anne of Green Gables".I didn't like the book because the story of the book was so long.So,I spent a lot of time for the book of the summer vacation period.I recommend to classmates that you had better read the book,when you have much time.

1. I have read Penguin Reader. That story of “MIB.” I like so much that movie so I enjoyed reading it. It is too easy for me to read because that level is 1. But it is good for getting used to read a long passage. I want to recommend this book to another classmate.

Recently almost Japanese people hear “autism.” But all people don’t understand that detail. Possibly some people have some misunderstanding about autism. 1. I have read Penguin Readers. Recentry, I read "Jumanji". I have known its story because I watched the movie. A family be involved a lot of dngerous happenings by a playng board game,Jumanji. I think reading many easy-to-read books is important because it make us reading quick.

1, I have read "Toy story" before. It is said Penguin kids level. It is a low-level Penguin Readers. It is too easy, so I don't recommend it to everyone. However I think reading easy books is very important for us to improve our English skills. If we read difficult books, we can't understand and we take times to look up words in a dictionary. It is very hard for us, so first we should read easy books to get used to English. And then, we should try to read difficult books.

Visuals made me easier to understanding, but I couldn’t have that image when I watched her presentation. I thought it made us recognized happiness which we usually have.

1. I think that reading easy books is not bad. Easy books are written in easy English. So we can read fast and understand deeply. Also the number of letters and characters of easy books is small. We have to predict the background of the story. We can cultivate the ability to think about the background. This is why it is good to read easy books.

I thought that I study about "autism" more. The speed of the video is nice for me. Also the sound quality, her pronousiation and visuals in her presentation are great to understand.
1.I read a Oxford bookworms series' book when I was a high school student.This book is "The Elephant Man". This book became movie. This story is very strange, but it is very easy so I enjoyed it very much. Also, I could remember new words and the grammar that I did not know. I think I improved English skill thanks to this book. 1. I read penguin readers which title is Fly Away Home. This story is about the birds and a girl. The girl helped geese and brought up them. Fainally, the girl and the geese could fly. My reading teacher said this story is popular in this class. I think penguin readers are thin and not difficult to read. So I recomend it.

1. I read “Love Actually” and I think this kind of book is good for me. Because I can’t read long story but this book is written by short so I can read in less time. And another thing is this book has some vocabulary at the end of a page so if I find some words that I don’t know, I can check it out quickly. Therefore, I like this book and want to recommend.

I have read Penguin Readers series and I like it. Penguin Readers has so many books. I read “The Snow Queen” recently. It was interesting story so I’d like to recommend you this book. I think background knowledge and vocabulary are advantage for reading. If you know various words, you can read and understand easily. And background knowledge is will help you to understand what is story tells you or what is story about.

1, I read “A Christmas Carol”. Scrooge who is always angry, lives in London. He doesn’t like comunication with people and he doesn’t believe in love. One Christmas day, three ghosts come to him and teach him that love is very important. Then he becomes a sociable person. I like this story because I felt gentle. And I recommend it. I think reading the advantages book is important. Because we read difficult books suddenly, I become dislike English.

1. I have read many panguin reader's but my best book that I ever read is Jane Eyre. The story is Jane is an orphan but she will be happy in the end of story. I recommend this book because you can choose several level of English.

1. I read a Forrest Gump when I was 18 years old. It has a movie,too and after watching movie, I read it. It was so good story. I have known the story so I could read it smoothly.

I recommend this book to my classmate because her life happened many things. So she lived indomitable for her children and many children. I thought she was satisfied with her way of life.It is important for everyone to read easy-to-read books because it is pleasant way to study English.
