Reply to at least two other student's blogs from last week and respond especially to how they wrote about learning from their mistakes. 2. In this week's blog write in about 50 words about a specific example where you learned from your mistakes in either this class or another class your are studying in at Ferris. 3. In about 50-80 words discuss three different strategies for studying/reviewing vocabulary.

2. In the class of Writing,I mistaken preposition.I would have understood preposition in some degree,but actually,I haven't understood preposition completely yet.In the class,I didn't know which preposition like "at" and "in" is correct for using front of "college".So I have to study preposition from now on.

My first strategy for studying/reviewing vocabulary is picking up words which I haven't learned yet and writing down the words at my exclusive note.Second strategy is learning the words by writing the words again and again.Finally,my third strategy is doing examination by myself and cheacking my fruit.I study vocabulary like this.However,if there is better way to study vocabulary,I want to study with the way.
I like your strategies. It is important to do test by myself and check my knowledge of vocabularies. I think it is good way to confirm my ability of vocabulary.

Delete2. I made a mistake in reading class. My mistake was I misunderstand the meaning of 'case'. The meaning of 'cause' was an organization or idea that people support or fight for in the article. However, I thought the meaning is the person or thing that makes happen. I think it was good mistake because I got the different meaning of 'cause' from my mistake.
ReplyDelete3. My first strategy of learning vocabulary is read some books in English and pick up vocabulary from the book. Second, I don't look up dictionary at that time because I want try to guess the meaning of a word from the contex. The last is I look up the word to use a dictionary and check that my guess was correct.
I think guessing the vocabulary which I don't know are good way to read books in English and the most important this method is understanding contex without consult a dictionary for the meaning. This is key point!
Your strategies are good! I will try to read books without consult a dictionary. That one is better because I know whether I understand context and vocabularies.

Delete2 In the class of writing, I made a mistake. I brought speaking class textbook. I borrowed writing textbook next neighbor. I gave a person trouble. After that, I am careful about a things left behind.

Delete2. I made the mistake in Listening class. It is difficult for me to listen the native speaker's words. Then I often misunderstand words, completely it is different from that I hear. That's why I try to improve my listening skills.

Your strategies are very good. when I always find the word which I don't know, I look up words in a dictionary. I think to guess the word's meaning is important,too, so I'll guess the words' meaning when I find the words which I don't know.

Delete2: I made a mistake in listening class. My mistake was that changing the verb from noun and adjectives. And, it was difficult for me to change it from the verb to noun or adjective in reverse, because I hadn’t thought that there is a rule to change verb from noun and adjective.
ReplyDelete3: when I usually learn vocabulary, I use English Word Book. I check the word and the meaning and read the example sentence which is how to use the word.
And, I write the word on paper many times to remember how to spell the word.
When I found the difficult word on English class, I review the word after come back my home. And I check the word and search for the suitable meaning to the sentence.

Delete2. I had mistakes translation English into Japanese in reading class. I could not accurately understand contents and I could not found some structure of context. My translation was not correct. I learned grammar and I correct my mistakes.
ReplyDelete3. My way of strategies for studying vocabularies, first I use a collection of words book. Second I use application of smartphone. It can learn vocabularies and I can hear pronunciation, it checks my mistakes. I can learn anywhere when I have my smartphone. Third I write down many words any number of time with a blue pen.
I feel it's very hard.I think Mayuko always translate concisely.

Delete2.I was noticed I sometimes made a mistake in be verb in the writting class.I'll take "None of my brothers(is/are)married” for example.This answer is "are",for "my brother"is a word we can count.I don't know these diferrences well,so I want to study more.
ReplyDelete3.When I study/review vocabulary,first I memorize a wordbook over and over by seeing words.Second,in order to check whether the word has been memorized I make and try a word test.Finally,I read some books as practice. If there are unknown or forgotten words,I consult a dictionary or wordbook and memorize this words.I thought we will be able to use more words by repeating these three processes.

Delete2, In the class of Reading, I made a mistake. When I read the article, I found a word. The word was "strengthen". It's very basic word but I didn't remember the meaning then. The word is a derivative of strong and I realized that I forgot many of them perfectly. So I will study various derivatives from now on.

Delete2 In writing class, I made some mistakes which is like a sentence structure. For example, I forgot to indent, title and so on. My friend has checked my report and found rhese mistakes. Ir makes my feel embarrassed. Although thanks to this mistake, I ctry to care of my sentence structure.
ReplyDelete3, My first for straregy for studying English vocabulary is watching movie with English subtitle and English voice. Second is wrriting down the vocaburaly which I didn't know. Third one is examing the meaning of vocaburaly. We can improve our vocaburaly skill and listening skill, too. It is killing two birds with one stone.
I think your strategy is very good because your way can enjoy studying English. It is really important for me. I am not good at listening so I try to watch the movie with English next time and I want to get listening skill.

Delete2. I had a test in writing class. I made many mistakes but I remembered learning from a mistake. In the question sentence, there was "stand for" but I don't know the word,so I wrote completely different answer which was asked. I learn "stand for" meaning.I thought I have to increse vocabulary.

Second is to write words which I don't know down paper with blue pen pronouncing the word because I have heard that writing with blue pen become easy to memorize something. Third is to do test. I don't know these step is best to study words but it is easy for me.

Delete2 I made a mistake in the TOEFL class.When I read English sentences, I found the word `fast`.I think fast means moving quickly. But this mean is wrong in the article.The word has many meanings. In the article,fast means eating littleor no food for a period time, especially for religious reasons. I learned new meaning from my mistake.

Delete2.I made a mistake in my writing class. The teacher gave a wriiting report and I wrote it. In the next class, the teacher said "It is wrong to start 'because' and 'so' in the biginning of a sentence." I didn't know that so I was very surprised.

I always try to speak loud to undertand word's meaning in that sentence. Finally, I write words more than three times in notebook with sound it. If I have a time, I try to sarch other words when I search new words in example sentence in first searching.

Delete2 I made mistakes in writing class. In writing class, teacher pointed out my mistakes of the sentences I wrote. But teacher doesn't correct my mistakes. ReplyDelete3. I think there are three essential strategies. I supposed they can refer to whatever subjects we study and reviw. Firstly, we should read the textbook before studying and understand the meaning of the words. Secondary, it is important not only to know the meaning of the words but also to write them. Thirdly, reading aloud the words and their meanings. I practice this process regulary. Therefore, I could clearly memorize through this process.
2 I made mistakes in Reading class's vocabulary test. I realized that I can't understand a lot of words. After the test, I checked the words by dictionary and I answered the test again. Vocabulary is the most essential skill in all the class so I study it everyday.

Second, writing the picked up words many times and pronouncing the words. Third, making a sentence using the words. Usiug this way, I can learn more correctlly. It is important to pick up words can not understand. I think that the way which is writing vocablary many times is the best to remember it. I try to use words I learn in daily too.

Delete2. I had some mistakes in writing class in this week. I took mid-term examination. This exam was on some derivative. I remembered word meaning but I didn’t know derivative. I was a shortage of study student ! I thought adjective of “equality” is “equaly” ; still “equal” is correct. When I learn new words, I try to remember with derivative.
ReplyDelete3. When I study or review vocabulary, first I look for meaning by using electric dictionary and hear correctly pronunciation many times. Second, I write over and over until remember spell and meaning. Finally I check if I memorize these words. When I figure out sentences or words without Japanese translation, I finish studying this part.

If I found unknown vocabulary in the books, I would look up in the dictionary immediately and write it down my vocabulary note. Next, I write unknown words down over and over again. Just then, it is important to aloud while writing vocabulary. Last strategy is I am used to seeing, writing and listening. In my opinion, accustomed vocabulary is easy to use.

Delete2. I mistook the grammar in writing class. I wrote the essay in the class, and handed in to my teacher. Next week, I received it and there is so many mistook the grammar. So I corrected an error a composition and handed in again. It was better than first one, but I thought that I want to study correct grammar from on now.
ReplyDelete3. My first strategy is checking vocabulary. If I didn’t know the vocabulary, I couldn’t read the long sentences. Second, I memorize the vocabulary. I write the vocabulary many times until I memorize it. Third I don’t like the listening so, I watch the movie in English. Then I set the subtitles in English. My English teacher in high school told me that it is the best way to learn listening, because I can listening the English and check the words on pronounce same time. These are the way to study English.
I completely agree with your teache's idea that I haven't ever had. I would like to increase the opportunity to carry out listening.

Delete2, I made a mistake the other day. In writing class, we studied about food. I wanted to say steak that a grilled large thick meat, but I said steak that broiled meat. I felt difference in nuance between Japanese and English. I think I have to study nuance because it is important.

So I can study pronunciation and I can remember words meaning involuntary. Second, I write many times while reading aloud. Certainly, my hand tired but words sink into my hand. Third, I listen to English music. Then my ears get used to English. I think studying vocabulary is not difficult.
I think so too. I also listen to English music. The way is very good because I can get used to listening English. I am always busy so I can't practice listening enough at home. However I listen to English music, I can do without taking a long time. That's why I like your strategy.

ReplyDelete2, I write vocablaries which I do not know on paper and its meanings by orange pen on side. Then I memorize vocablaries using a red sheet. I write vocablaries many times and read many times. I commute to the colege taking 2 hours. Therefore I try to memorize vocablaries on that time. I would like to learn a lot of difficlt word.

Delete2. I had a mistake in writing class. In the quiz I did not write the same the tense, so the sentence was not good. I used the present tense and the past tense in the same time. that could not make sence. So I should check the tense.
